
Lois was born in Manchester and began her professional singing career at the age of 15, playing at venues in and around Manchester with a variety of bands and musicians, including Family Affair with Andy Treacey (Faithless, Groove Armada) and working with David Tench (Natasha Beddingfield)
Lois joined the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra in 1988 (the band that produced bandleader Andy Prior and Alastair White amongst many others), and was featured on several WYJO recordings, most notably the album One More Time which Included a beautiful arrangement of When Sunny Gets Blue and a blistering version of Mack the Knife. Lois made a return to Wigan in 2000 to play The International Festival of Jazz with her own Quintet.
To date, Lois has been featured several times on BBC Radio 2 & BBC GMR, and has toured
extensively in the UK and Europe with her Quintet. She has held residencies at The
Duke of Westminsters Grosvenor House Hotel in Chester, and has performed for corporate
events and private functions at hundreds of venues, notably:-
The Ancient Curium Amphitheatre (Limassol, Cyprus), Coral Beach Hotel (Paphos, Cyprus) Brighton International Convention Centre, The Adelphi (Liverpool) The Majestic (Harrogate), The Heritage Motor Centre (Warwick), McDonalds St. Paul Hotel (Sheffield) The Belfry (Birmingham), Mere Golf & Country Club (Knutsford), The Queens Hotel (Leeds), Obsidian (Manchester) and one of her favourite venues, Harewood House in Leeds.
